Gifts in Wills

Your Legacy, Their Future

Legacy giving is among the most impactful ways to leave a lasting mark on the College. Whether large or small, legacy gifts provide essential support that strengthens the College for generations to come. Crucially, they help fund bursaries, enabling talented students from diverse backgrounds to benefit from a Dulwich education—just as many of our alumni have before them.

Support what matters to you

You can make a gift to Dulwich to support where the need is greatest, or you can support a more specific area, like bursaries. We recommend that you reach out to us so that we can work with you to make your desired impact.

If you are interested in finding out more about leaving a legacy to Dulwich, get in touch with Kathi Palitz, Head of Philanthropy palitzks@dulwich.org.uk or +44 (0) 20 8299 5369.

Canon Carver Society

Canon Carver

To honour those who make the extraordinary commitment of leaving a gift to Dulwich College in their wills, we invite legacy donors to join the Canon Carver Society. Named after Canon Alfred James Carver, Master of Dulwich College from 1858 to 1883, the Society celebrates those who have included the College in their will. Canon Carver was instrumental in shaping modern Dulwich, and today the Society proudly continues his legacy of progress and generosity.

Membership in the Canon Carver Society is open to everyone in the College community—Old Alleynians, parents, staff, and friends. Members receive regular updates from the College and are invited to our annual lunch, a special event where we celebrate our supporters and share news about College life.

Tax Efficiency and Gifts in Wills

Dulwich College is a registered charity (no.1150064), so gifts left to the College are free from capital gains tax and inheritance tax. We recommend that you speak with your solicitor or will writer regarding capital gains and inheritance tax. You can also view the HMRC's guidance on inheritance tax.

“I am not sure that I fully appreciated the excellence of a Dulwich education until after I had left the College. Now, I have no doubt about the opportunities such an education affords. I have long been a supporter of the Bursary Programme, one directed at opening the College doors to as wide a community as possible. The giving of a legacy to the College is one of the best ways for grateful alumni to express their appreciation of all that the College once did for them and to enable talented pupils to benefit from this transformative opportunity.” Sir Colin Rimer OA (1954-1962)
President of the Old Alleynian Association (2016-17) and President of the Canon Carver Society
