Senior Footballers head to Barcelona ahead of the new season

37 boys from Years 11, 12 and 13 attended a five day pre-season tour to Barcelona before Christmas to prepare for the upcoming season.

The boys trained at the purpose built Futbol Salou complex which has an impressive eight pitches and stayed at the nearby Cambrils Parc holiday resort. On the pitch the boys trained five times, playing six fixtures. The 1st XI developed well and won one game and drew their second to a Spanish academy side. The 2nd XI worked hard as a group and make significant progress and won both of their fixtures. Although the 3rd XI lost both of their fixtures, the boys who had never played together before showed real signs of promise for the season.

On the penultimate day the group travelled to the Camp Nou to watch Barcelona wow the crowds in a 4-0 victory over Deportivo La Coruna. The boys also visited the beach, played many mini competitions and enjoyed spending the end of the Michaelmas term in the sun of Spain. With pre-season now over attention turns to the opening fixtures of term against St Johns Leatherhead.
