42 Dulwich College boys and seven staff thoroughly enjoyed five nights in San Sebastián. The tour began with an early start landing in Bilbao just before midday, after a short drive to San Sebastián the group checked in and went straight to the beach to experience the stunning views of La Concha. The boys then split into two groups to compete in their first fixtures against local opposition. The fixtures were all hard fought and the Dulwich College boys represented themselves and the College well. The following days the boys had two training sessions and another fixture against local opposition where again they represented themselves superbly.
Hockey and football were not the only sports the boys experienced in Spain, they competed against a local English speaking school in basketball, volleyball and table tennis. The group was also able to try their hand at and watch a professional game of pelota. Other activities on the tour including a surfing lesson, a trip to Biarritz for lunch and a chance to explore San Sebastián old town. One of the biggest highlights of the trip was an afternoon watching Club Athletico San Sebastián play in a premier league hockey match, followed by watching Eibar play against Levante in their La Liga clash.
The tour was a fantastic success and all boys gave a great account of themselves and represented the College superbly.
