Following Tuesday’s outstanding athletics competition and brilliant sunshine, Day 2 of the Olympian sports events got underway with the U19’s Badminton and U13’s Football tournaments this morning, albeit in slightly cooler conditions. The ‘clump’ and PE Centre were hives of activity as pupils renewed acquittances from yesterday and began warming up in the breeze. The standard of both sports were excellent, and particularly considering the weary bodies that left the track the previous evening. The football saw DCI students adapting to playing on grass for the first time and it was wonderful to witness so many smiling faces and that feeling of sheer joy that comes with scoring a goal. Similarly, the Badminton courts were awash with high smash winners and drop shots.
