Dulwich College and SSLP pupils feature in The Community Rail Awards 2024

Pupils from Dulwich and the SSLP played their part in helping Denmark Hill Station win the Creative Projects and Station Arts Award at the Community Rail Awards in Swansea last Monday.

The station has been something of a showcase for the boys; their contributions have cheered the 10,000 travellers a day on either their hum-drum commutes or welcoming them as they head for King’s Hospital and the Maudsley.

Particular favourites have been the four metre Christmas Tree made of revolving cogs created by DT staff and boys, and the huge Una Marson optical illusion painted by DC art students Emilio Nunzi and Timour Sardafian.

Other contributions have been made by Year 7 SSLP pupils, Dulwich boys from all years, OA Scout leader Victor Hwang, as well as the work put in last summer by Year 12 boys who helped dig over the first vineyard in any UK train station… WW1 fighter ace and England rugby player Cyril Lowe (OA) features in the current art installation.
