This year’s annual Young Art exhibition took place at a new venue—the Oxo Tower—and once again supported Cancer Research UK, specifically funding research into childhood cancers led by Dr Karin Straathof at UCL's Great Ormond Street Institute. Since its inception in 1990, the competition has raised over £1.25 million and showcased thousands of children’s artworks.
With over 7,500 national entries on the theme ‘Faces and Places’, competition was fierce, so we’re proud to announce four of our students are among the prizewinners. Zishan Ismail (Year 11) earned 2nd prize overall for Years 10–11. Atticus Dewe (Year 11) placed 2nd in Printmaking (Years 10–11). Josh Doig (Year 8) won 3rd in Drawing (Years 7–9), and Harry Davison (Year 9) was awarded in 3rd Printmaking (Years 7–9).
We were also honoured with the Printmaking Teacher Award, a reflection of our strong commitment to printmaking in the department.
Well done to all involved.
