182 days after its launch, the SSLP Student Voice group returned to Kingswood Arts to celebrate their AI projects, a culmination of seven months of collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking. Representing Dulwich College, alongside peers from Charter Bermondsey and Westminster City School, our students explored the theme of AI and Ethics. Their presentation combined extensive research, interviews with staff and award-winning AI writer Dr Kitty Hung, and a thought-provoking poem that highlighted the importance of empathy, care, and responsibility in the age of artificial intelligence. A standout moment was their use of the iconic Spider-Man quote, “With great power comes great responsibility,” underscoring the ethical complexities young people must now consider. Their message: AI is a tool, but it must be used wisely.
The event featured four groups tackling themes of AI in wellbeing, learning, creativity, and ethics. Projects ranged from app and website design to school-wide art competitions, each group demonstrating not only technical ability but also emotional intelligence and teamwork.
The day ended with a well-deserved celebration; pizza, disco, and a lively game of musical chairs.
This event was a testament to what students across the SSLP can achieve when given the opportunity to lead. The Dulwich team’s thoughtful contribution exemplified their commitment to ethical innovation and collaborative learning. Their voices will continue to shape the ongoing SSLP dialogue on AI in education.
