Three pupils gave fabulous solo performances of J.S. Bach’s music in a concert in the Chapel of God’s Gift in Dulwich Village yesterday, following last week’s Bach Competition. Ryan in Year 12 opened the concert with a poetic interpretation of the Prelude and Fugue in C-sharp minor, Sebastian (Year 8) followed with a charismatic rendition of the Prélude from the Cello Suite No. 1 in G major. Bach Prize winner, Aidan (Year 7), closed the concert with a stylish and authoritative rendition of the Chromatic Fantasia and Fugue in D minor BWV 903.
The concert is the first of this year’s Wednesday lunchtime concert series featuring all three Foundation Schools – Dulwich College, James Allen’s Girls’ School and Alleyn’s School - in association with the Dulwich Picture Gallery. The next concert given by Dulwich College will be on Wednesday 15 October.
