Founder's Day is the annual celebration that pays homage to our Founder Edward Alleyn, our rich heritage, and our exciting present.
On an unusually warm summer's evening a huge crowd gathered to celebrate the event. There was music and drama throughout the afternoon and evening and all performers were extraordinarily accomplished. They rose to the challenge of playing for an audience of over two and half thousand with great bravura.
The fairground rides were an innovation this year, they proved hugely popular and added to the colour of the site.
For the grand finale the orchestra played John Williams's Olympic Fanfare with a burst of fireworks illuminating the sky. Against this background the College bid a fond farewell to our Director of Drama, Richard Mayo, who has been so integral to the development of the event over many years.
Few evenings in the College year are so memorable, and Founder's Day 2024 event proved to be as popular than ever.
