Twelfth Night in Stratford

A Level Drama and Theatre & English pupils and staff joined forces for a trip to Christopher Luscombe's production of Twelfth Night in Stratford featuring Adrian Edmundson as the hapless Malvolio in his RSC debut. Sumptuously designed and relocated to 1890s Victorian England, the sepia tinged world paid homage to Oscar Wilde and androgynous sexual ambiguity. Simon Higlett’s set was all velvet swags, statues, fountains and Lawrence Alma-Tadema paintings wandering through boudoir, manor house and even a bustling London train station. Boys thoroughly enjoyed the production and the clarity of Luscombe’s story telling.
