Many congratulations to pianist Devin Liu, Year 8 Music Scholar, for winning the Junior Section of the Iris Dyer Piano Prize at the Junior Royal Academy of Music, adjudicated by Stephen Savage. Devin attends the Junior Academy every Saturday where he learns with the distinguished pianist Patsy Fou. There were two rounds in the competition and Devin performed the first movement of Beethoven’s Sonata Op. 2 No. 3 and the fiendish Etude Op. 10 No. 2 by Chopin in the final round. Devin played with confidence and musicality: his Beethoven was particularly poised and spacious. An outstanding achievement.
Success for DC Pianist at the Junior RAM Piano Competition
