Dulwich Silver

An imaginative design initiative is helping to raise money for King's College Hospital Critical Care Unit in the run up to Christmas. At the beginning of this term, nine 16-year-old Design and Technology students were briefed to design and make a range of silver jewellery. These pieces are now being sold in a local jeweller, with all profits going to the school's charity – the King's College Hospital Critical Care Unit.

After conducting research into consumer tastes and the local demographic, boys sketched and fashioned prototype models before creating the final designs out of sterling silver. They then cut, shaped, melted, hammered, soldered and polished the metal into five eye-catching pieces.

The collection can be seen in Lila's at 117 Lordship Lane where the pieces are displayed in the window throughout this month.
