On Thursday 2nd May, five boys from the Upper School departed for the United States to compete in the global final of the KWHS Investment Competition hosted by The Wharton School of The University of Pennsylvania.
The boys (Jan Ptacin, Jonny Nicoll, Saatwik Gupta, Aleksander Sarbinski, and Robert Golosov) were one of nine teams out of over 2000 global entrants to reach the prestigious final. After weeks of preparation which included writing a 25 page investment report and creating a 10 minute presentation to perform for the judges in Philadelphia, the boys enjoyed two days at UPenn amongst other top students from around the world. After a day of lectures from University professors and a tour of the campus the boys competed on the Saturday, but sadly did not place in the top three. This did not dampen the already fantastic achievement of making the final. Sunday was then spent exploring Manhattan (including Wall St, the 9/11 memorial, and Central Park) before flying home, concluding a very busy, fun and challenging weekend.
