On Thursday 2 May, over 40 of Dulwich’s Music Award Holders and advanced players gave a spectacular Chamber Music concert. This concert was the culmination of many months of hard work and rehearsals where 13 groups performed a wide variety of repertoire: from trio sonatas and quartets by Handel and Telemann, major works by Mozart, Beethoven, Mendelssohn and Brahms to 20th Century repertoire by Barber, Magnard, Stravinsky, Hazell, Monti and Piazzolla. The audience was truly appreciate of the excellent performances throughout the evening and our musicians were able to display their individual qualities and character as instrumentalists as well as demonstrating a deep understanding of ensemble playing.
This is the second year that we have held this concert at the beautiful church of St James’s Piccadilly and we are delighted that the Chamber Music programme has grown so much in the past few years. We look forward to more music and new groups in the new academic year as well as an exciting Chamber Music tour to Holland in October 2019.
