Aims
All aspects of communication and performance skills are covered and lessons will give your sons an appreciation of poetry, prose and play text. It is hoped to give the students vocal and physical confidence, and to encourage them to work creatively and sympathetically with others. It is our aim for the boys to acquire knowledge and skills AND have fun in a relaxed, positive atmosphere.
Examinations
Around 220 boys take LAMDA drama classes each year. The examinations take place in the College and we are now teaching up to Grade 8/Gold Medal, which is the final grade. These examinations are accredited and used by universities as evidence of a broad oral foundation and an extended literary background. Grades 6, 7 and 8 earn UCAS tariff points.
General Information
We welcome applications from boys in Year 4 to year 11 and are happy to include older boys even if they have no experience of Speech and Drama. Boys may join classes at any time throughout the academic year where there is available space. There are approximately 30 lessons per academic year, although not necessarily divided into 10 per term.
