Peter Jolly

Peter Jolly (OA)

Director of Drama

Peter has been leading the College’s Drama department for 26 years, producing and directing productions at, among other venues, the National Theatre and the Young Vic. In that time, he has seen former students achieve success in all fields of the entertainment industry. Peter is a trustee of The Rose Playhouse on Bankside, as well as a council member of Shakespeare’s Globe theatre. He is a regular contributor to Teaching Drama, has given lectures in venues from Stratford-upon-Avon to Massachusetts and has taught workshops across the globe, from Chicago to Zhuhai, via KwaZulu.

Kathryn Norton-Smith

Academic Head of Theatre Studies

Kathryn taught Drama and Theatre Studies at JAGS for nearly 20 years, during which time she also taught Theatre Studies at Dulwich to Upper School boys. She is an associate director and producer for the Pleasance Theatre Trust and is co-founder and Artistic Director of Young Pleasance. She has won a Scotsman Fringe First award for outstanding direction of original work and has been involved with every YP production since founding the company 20 years ago, including, most memorably, a tour to the Salzburg Festival. She is also a casting director for film and television.
