Iftar Celebrations at Dulwich College

Iftar Celebrations at Dulwich College

Dulwich College recently marked Ramadan with a special Iftar gathering. Organised in collaboration with the College’s Islamic Society and led by Old Alleynians Hamza Noor (99-06) and Uzair Malida (10-17) , the event welcomed over 80 parents, pupils, and staff members.

The event was open to everyone from the Dulwich community, including families from James Allen’s Girls’ School and Alleyn’s School.

Guests enjoyed a shared meal and the chance to learn more about the significance of Ramadan, a sacred month observed by Muslims worldwide as a time of fasting, prayer and charity. During Ramadan, Muslims fast daily from dawn to dusk and the fast is broken with Iftar (a delicious feast) at night time.

Now in its third year, the College Iftar has quickly become a cherished tradition, offering an opportunity for OAs from different generations and the College community to come together and share delicious food, culture and traditions.

If you are an OA and would like to organise a similar event, please get in touch with the OA office by emailing oa@dulwich.org.uk
