25th Camberwell Scout Camp 2026

Thirty-two Scouts attended the 2026 Summer Camp. A week packed with adventure, challenge and more than a little exhaustion!

This year's camp was filled with memorable activities. Scouts bounced their way through underground cave trampolines, raced through the trees on the forest coaster, and headed to Barmouth for paddle boarding along the coast. 

With a beach only a five-minute walk from the campsite, there were plenty of opportunities to cool off throughout the week. We were also very grateful to Sean the farmer, who kindly set up an old television in his barn so everyone could watch the Norway v England match.

One of the highlights of the week was, as always, the Monster Scheme. This demanding challenge tested both endurance and navigation across a 30km hike. Every group put in a tremendous effort, but congratulations go to Woodpigs Patrol, whose flawless navigation and excellent teamwork saw them complete the route efficiently and in great spirits. Several Scouts demonstrated map-reading skills that would put many adults to shame.

Patrol cooking standards were exceptionally high throughout the week. Woodpigs produced a series of outstanding meals, but when the scores were added up it was Eagles who emerged as overall camp champions. 

Finally, camps like this only happen thanks to an enormous team effort. Many volunteers, OAs, Parents and Leaders and Young Leaders give up valuable annual leave and spend months planning behind the scenes to make the week possible. Huge thanks go to Victor, Aiken, Ed B, Ed F, Eddie F, Emily, Fred, Hassan, Ian, Jo, Jon, Matthew, Noah, Noel, Rob, Rory, Tom and William for helping make Summer Camp 2026 one of the most enjoyable, successful and memorable camps in recent years.
