Nick Waters (2001-2008) left Dulwich in 2008 to study History at Leeds before joining the Army.
After four years in the Army Nick took a MA in Conflict, Security and Development at King's College London before joining Bellingcat. Bellingcat is an independent international collective of researchers, investigators and citizen journalists using open source and social media investigation to probe a variety of subjects – from Mexican drug lords and crimes against humanity, to tracking the use of chemical weapons and conflicts worldwide. Operating in a unique field where advanced technology, forensic research, journalism, investigations, transparency and accountability come together.
Nick's work has focused on human rights abuses in Syria and the use of drones by sub-state actors. He has a special interest in the conflicts in Syria, as well as social media, civil society, intelligence and security.
Nick is a 2018 European Press Prize Laureate.
