Fringe Benefits

Fringe Benefits

The Drama department are very proud of current pupils in Year 12 and 13 who performed at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe this summer with Young Pleasance in their original musical comedy, A Grave Situation. Seven Alleynians were part of a twenty-five-strong ensemble who wowed critics and scooped terrific audiences at the world’s biggest arts festival. As well as 17 performances over two and a half weeks – they regularly performed on the Royal Mile stages and also took part in a very special gala performance to celebrate the 80th birthday of the founder of The Pleasance, alongside Frank Skinner, Paul Merton, Ennio Marchetto, Arthur Smith and other well know stars of TV, radio and theatre. Bravo to Alfie Cook, Tom Giles, Leo Milne, Fred Robb, Louis Rudnicki, Darshy Whittington Rao, JAGS pupils Kirsty Campbell, and Amy Shelmerdine, and to Kathryn Norton-Smith, Catherine Ibbotson, Peter Jolly and Victoria Arter for their creative expertise and support of the boys on tour.
