Year 5 pupils take first and second at Royal Russell Maths Competition

We were fortunate enough to field two teams at the Year 5 Maths Competition hosted by Royal Russell School. Students Sydney, Ezaan, James J, Lorcan, Kieran, Zakir, Nathan and Panshul competed against schools from across South London. Out of 20 teams, our boys achieved an incredible first and second place finish. Remarkably, there were just seven points separating the two teams. 

Throughout the afternoon, the boys acquitted themselves brilliantly, demonstrating excellent teamwork and problem-solving skills as they tackled challenges that tested both their logic and mathematical thinking under pressure. Their attitude, resilience and teamwork were a real credit to the school. 

The boys were delighted to receive their certificates, medals, trophy and, especially, their very own Russell the Lion teddies. 

It was a fantastic achievement and a wonderful reflection of the strength of Maths within our Junior School.
