Summer update from the Friends of Dulwich College

Summer update from the Friends of Dulwich College

As another busy and rewarding academic year draws to a close, we are delighted to share some of the highlights from the Friends of Dulwich College.

We extend our sincere thanks to our parent community for their continued generosity and support, which make our fundraising and events programme possible.

Fundraising Highlights

This year’s fundraising events achieved outstanding results:

· The International Evening welcomed more than 700 guests and raised £1,029.

· The Christmas Fair raised an impressive £30,615. In addition, proceeds from the Raffle and Lucky Dip, totalling £6,275, were donated to our Charity of the Year, Emmaus.

· The Junior School and Whole School Quiz Nights collectively raised over £6,000.

· Our most significant fundraising success has been the Nearly New Shop, which generated an incredible £31,800. A huge thank you to Meg and the entire Nearly New Shop team for their dedication and hard work.

Social Events

Alongside JAGS, the FDC also hosted a number of popular social events for pupils, including the Year 7 Film Night, Year 8 BBQ and Year 9 Quiz Night. These events provided valuable opportunities for students to build friendships and strengthen connections with the girls from JAGS.

Supporting the College

Funds raised by the FDC help to enhance the student experience across the College. Each term, grant applications from departments and staff are carefully reviewed, enabling the FDC to support a wide range of initiatives. This year the Committee approved grants to the value of £63,550, allocated as follows:

· College Facilities & Sponsorship: £3,650

· Departments: £25,980

· Clubs & Societies: £5,200

· Enrichment & Expeditions: £23,620

· Pastoral: £5,100

*A full list of grants will be published in our annual end of year newsletter.

These achievements are only possible thanks to the dedication and generosity of our parent volunteers. We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who has contributed their time, energy and support throughout the year. We would also like to thank Joanne Whaley in the Development Team and Julia Metzner in Events, whose invaluable support and hard work are vital to the success of our activities.
