Prize-winning author Phil Earle visits Dulwich College

Prize-winning author Phil Earle visits Dulwich College

For our 8th  Junior school author visit of the year – we were thrilled to have the prize-winning author Phil Earle come on publication day for his new book THE DAWN OF ADONIS. Our Year 5 and Year 6 boys and the visiting Year 6 pupils from Dulwich Wood school were spellbound as Phil told of his own reading journey from being an absolute non-reader to becoming a prize-winning respected children’s author. He encouraged  the children to observe the world around them, listen to conversations and be inspired by what they see and watch. The evil characters in his book were inspired by the characters Bill Sykes and Dodger from Oliver! Year 6 then sang their version of the Bill Sykes song from their recent production of Oliver! to the author. What a treat and the perfect way to end a memorable author visit.
