Founder’s Concert 2026:

Founder’s Concert once again brought together the entire Dulwich College community for a memorable evening of music, drama, food and fireworks, celebrating the end of another successful academic year. This year’s event was particularly special as it marked the first Founder’s Concert under the leadership of our Master, Mr Rob Milne. 

Alongside the musical performances, families enjoyed a hugely popular Children’s Fun Fair featuring 15 attractions spread across the College grounds. From mini golf, laser tag and giant Hungry Hippos to traditional favourites such as Hook-a-Duck and the Coconut Shy, there was something for all ages. The fair created a wonderful festival atmosphere throughout the evening and proved to be a particular highlight for our younger visitors. 

The Marquee Stage opened proceedings, showcasing the extraordinary breadth of talent across the College. Audiences were treated to performances from the DUCKS Year 2 Choir, Year 3 pupils performing songs from their production of The Wind in the Willows, the Junior School rock band Fireday, alongside energetic sets from the Year 8 and Year 13 Rock Bands. 

As families and friends gathered across the grounds, the Main Stage programme commenced with a spectacular drumming display. Throughout the evening, Symphonic Wind Band, Sessions Orchestra and Alleynian Blues delighted the audience with a diverse repertoire including film music, Shostakovich’s Festive Overture and popular favourites from Michael Bublé, Aretha Franklin, and Earth, Wind & Fire. The Samba Band added colour and excitement as they paraded through the College grounds, while Year 12 actors entertained the audience with excerpts from Shakespeare’s plays. 

The evening concluded in spectacular fashion with the final movement of Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony, followed by Walter Murphy’s much-loved disco adaptation,  A Fifth of Beethoven, providing the perfect soundtrack to the annual firework display. 

With around 3,000 pupils, parents, staff, alumni and friends in attendance, Founder’s Concert 2026 was a wonderful celebration of the creativity, talent and spirit of the Dulwich community and a fitting conclusion to Mr Rob Milne’s first year-end festivities as Master of Dulwich College.
