An evening of Big Band Jazz and Wine Tasting

The Dulwich College Big Band and Jazz groups recently entertained guests with an American-themed programme of live music for a wine-tasting event at the Dulwich & Sydenham Hill Golf Club.  The event was open to members of the golf club, staff, parents, friends and supporters of Dulwich College for a relaxed social occasion overlooking the London skyline, giving the pupils an opportunity to perform in a new and welcoming environment.

Already familiar with many golfing pupils and parents, the Dulwich & Sydenham Hill Golf club hosted the evening and were delighted with the lively programme of American-themed music, including classic jazz standards and swing pieces, performed by the Big Band and Jazz group. Local wine merchants Dulwich Vintners presented a selection of five American wines to taste, and the club’s chef served American-style food to compliment them.

The combination of live music, fine wine, delicious food and spectacular views over the College and South London provided a lovely opportunity for the wider Dulwich community to get together and form a musical connection between the College and the Club.
