With over 70 clubs, activities and ensembles taking place each week, both at lunchtimes and after school, there really is something on offer for every boy.
Clubs run for forty minutes at lunchtime and for an hour after school and include a Homework Club until 5pm and an After School Care Club until 6pm. The vast majority of our clubs are teacher led and free of charge. We expect boys to take part in a minimum of two clubs per week although there is no requirement to attend an after school club. On average, however, most boys do 4 or 5 clubs during the week.
The programme is partly driven by teachers’ passions and interests, but boys also have the chance to suggest clubs that might be of interest to them. Across the year, boys work towards specific outcomes or performances and parents are invited in from time to time to see the boys’ learning in action.
The clubs’ programme is a strength of the Junior School and the vast array of opportunities available to the boys means that they really do have the opportunity ‘to be and do everything’.
