Canon Carver Society

The Canon Carver Society recognises our generous supporters who have remembered the College in their wills. Membership is open to all sections of the College community and present members include Old Alleynians, parents, members of staff and other friends of the College. The Society's President is Sir Peter Bazalgette OA (1962-71).

The Canon Carver Society is named for Canon Alfred James Carver, Master of Dulwich College (1858-1883), who set the College on a new course following the Dulwich College Act of 1857. The changes he instigated transformed the College and led to its reputation as one of the country’s leading schools.

"As President of the Alleyn Club one of my aims was to increase the Canon Carver Society's membership and I have been delighted by the growth of the Society. To quote one member, 'Dulwich was the basis of my successful career that, apart from anything else, enabled me to give my children the sort of education I had. I regarded that capability as the best investment of my life'."
Brigadier Johnny Walker OBE DL OA (1951-59)
Alleyn Club President 2013-13 and Canon Carver Society member

The Canon Carver Society is always delighted to welcome new members. Canon Carver members will receive all donor communications and will be invited to the Annual Canon Carver Society lunch hosted at the College, an opportunity to thank members for their support and share recent news and plans for future developments.

If you have already remembered Dulwich College in your will, we want to be able to say a heartfelt ‘thank you’ right now and to welcome you into the Canon Carver Society. If so, please contact Sarah Fretwell, Donor Engagement Manager, via email fretwellsc@dulwich.org.uk or phone 020 8299 5369.
