Shared Services

Dulwich College organises and hosts open events throughout the year for members of the local Dulwich and wider London community, including school pupils and staff.

The Archives

  • Annually over 1,000 children from 25 primary schools visit the James Caird, the lifeboat of explorer Sir Ernest Shackleton, housed in The Laboratory.
  • Over 300 external enquiries are received annually from global researchers including academics, family historians, authors and film makers.
  • Books, manuscripts and objects from our Archives have been loaned to international and national museums and galleries including the British Museum, National Maritime Museum, V&A and National Portrait Gallery.
  • Our archivists give talks on the history of the College and the buildings both on site and on visits to local groups and schools.
  • The archives team can assist with enquiries or visitors can book to study the collection in person. Please email: archives@dulwich.org.uk.

Governance

  • Our partnership work, including the voluntary school governance and trustee work undertaken by members of staff, including the Senior Management Team (SMT), enriches not only the educational outcomes of others but also the vitality of our own school.
  • If you have a governance vacancy that you would like to fill contact: Dr Cameron Pyke, Deputy Master External pykecsb@dulwich.org.uk

Scouts and Explorers

  • We provide facilities and staff for the 25th Camberwell Scouts and Dulwich Explorers, who comprise Cubs, Scouts and Explorers. All are a mix of boys and girls from the local community.
  • Each section meets weekly during term times, using the Trevor Bailey Sports Ground as the Headquarters. Most of the volunteer leaders are either members of staff or Old Alleynians. School minibuses are available for trips. About a third of participants are non-College students.
  • For more information contact: scouts@dulwich.org.uk

Subsidised Events

  • Our facilities offer a flexible and varied space for events as we have event capability in-house, buildings of variable ages, plenty of open space and on-site parking.
  • They are used by Dulwich College Enterprises Ltd (DCE) at times when they are not required for educational purposes. DCE is a wholly owned subsidiary of the College and its net profits are covenanted to the College and help the College achieve its charitable objectives.
  • To enquire about hiring Dulwich College as a venue contact: Julia Metzner, Head of Events metznerj@dulwich.org.uk
