DC I AM
February 2021 saw our second Dulwich College Identity Awareness Month (DC I AM) and this year, under the banner DC We Are, the focus has been on community. In a year in which ‘self-isolation’, ‘lockdown’ and ‘remote’ have all been ways of living that we have had to adopt, we wanted to spend this month remembering the importance of interdependence: of staying connected, of being a part of a community, and of our responsibility towards one another.

Dulwich College Big Cook Along
We also hosted our first ever Dulwich College Big Cook Along. Initially inspired by pupils and the launch of our Liberal Studies online cookery course, we were delighted to invite Parin Lad, founder of the The Curry Community, to lead a Friday evening alternative to a lockdown take away. Joining Parin online as panellists were special guests from our teacher and pupil community who cooked a simple, fast and wholesome curry, with pupils, parents, alumni and staff cooking along at home.
Throughout DC I Am 'We Are' there have been a host of events and activities with guest speakers, the compilation of a shared playlist with tracks that celebrate togetherness, and a letter/card writing initiative to mark Safer Internet Day. DC We Are programme of events
A spotlight on LGBTQ+ Week
The finale to DC I Am 'We Are' focused on a range of talks and events that mark LGBTQ+ History Month and celebrate the inauguration of the LGBTQ+ Society of Dulwich College. Every member of the College community was invited to join, whether they identify as LGBTQ+ or as allies and investors in social justice.
To mark LGBTQ+ History Month, we 'rainbowed' our DC I Am 'We Are' logo and throughout February flew the rainbow flag over the Pavilion as a symbol of inclusivity and welcome. A range of talks and events took place and a compilation of LGBTQ+ book and podcast recommendations were shared. LGBTQ+ programme of events
