Xin Nian Kuai Le

What a fantastic week we have had here at DUCKS, learning all about Chinese New Year. A highlight was our delightfully noisy Dragon Dance with a dragon head made by the children. We loved the red and gold lanterns which lit up the classrooms and corridors, with black and gold Chinese symbols decorating the walls. Nursery children were quick to learn how to write some Chinese characters such as ‘big’, ‘small’ and ‘mountain’, while older children used pens and brushes to write New Year greetings and the numbers up to 10. Please can we say a huge thank you to all our parents who helped us learn more about Chinese New Year and we would like to wish all our families a wonderful weekend as we welcome in the Year of the Rat.
