Readathon raises £867 for Save the Children

DUCKS celebrated 2 huge achievements in our Readathon assembly. During the Easter break we read more than 933 books. One of the motivations for the children was that they were reading to raise money for other children through our school charity Save the Children. We were especially proud this year to raise over £867 for such a worthwhile cause. Thank you to everyone who gave so generously.

The Master Dr Spence and Mrs Spence came to support our Readathon and entertained everyone with their reading of The Cook and the King by Julia Donaldson which was the perfect choice for the occasion and the children loved every minute of it.

Our other guests were two ex-DUCKS boys - Senior Prefects from the College, Oliver Storey, who is DUCKS Prefect and Leo Tidmarsh, Sustainability Prefect. They introduced themselves to the children and fielded a lively question and answer session. We would like to thank you all for your support and enthusiasm for reading at DUCKS and in particular for the Readathon.
