Respect & Resilience were the themes of our Lent mid-term House Day at DUCKS today. Echoing our school-wide topic of 'Long, Long, Ago', the houses chose to study influential people of history. Willow were inspired by the artist, author and speaker Henry Fraser OA (Old Alleynian), Oak learnt about racial history via the story of Rosa Parks, Elm studied Tereshkova and Chestnut, celebrated the topical 'Vote 100' having read the biography of Emmeline Pankhurst.
What's more, the children squealed with excitement at the arrival of a double decker bus on site! They took turns to board 'Once Upon a Bus' and listened to the enchanting stories of Neverland and the Gruffalo from charismatic actors dressed as pirates. A great day was had by all.
