Founder's Day is our annual community celebration that pays homage to our Founder Edward Alleyn, our rich heritage, and our exciting present. With gates open at 4.30pm, pupils, staff, parents, family and friends came together to celebrate music and performance throughout the afternoon and evening.
Kicking off the day for an appreciative crowd were the DUCKS Maypole Dancers, the Year 2 Choir and highlights from Year 3's Bee Musical. Hot on their heels were the Junior School Madrigal Choir with their beautiful performances of The Jones Boys and Maliswe and the amazing Lower School Rock Band with Chasing Cars and Believer.
This year’s evening Founder’s Concert performers included joyous Alleynian Blues, the impressive Sessions Orchestra with soloists Brooke, Edmund, and Lillie, Lambeth Walk, a wonderful excerpt from the Senior Production 'Me and My Girl' and the talented rock band Elborn (Theo, Felix, Tom S, Tom W and Oscar) with Can't Stop, Valerie, Pink & White, Play the Funky Music and Flourescent Adolescent.
A truly fabulous day was brought to a close with fireworks and Elgar's Nimrod & Finale.
