DUCKS celebrates International Women's Day

DUCKS celebrates International Women's Day

In the Kindergarten, women staff and parents shared with one another which women inspire them, and an interesting fact about themselves. They discovered that one member of staff plays football for an all-women team and one can read and write Korean. The children created a star to represent a woman that cares for them.

Reception children read the story, Peace at Last which prompted a discussion about all the women in their lives and how important they are.

Year 1 also marked International Women's Day by celebrating inspiring women in history and in their families. They created a starry night sky to highlight how women help light up the world, and thought about how women have stood up to injustice and fought for equality.
