Year 2 Production

Year 2 Production

In May, Year 2 children truly shone on stage in their annual musical production. Linking beautifully with their topic of Up, Up and Away and The Great Outdoors, the children performed Disney’s The Lion King Kids, and the result was nothing short of West End worthy.

Every child performed with confidence and enthusiasm, recalling their lines, actions and songs with impressive accuracy. Their determination, resilience and growing self-assurance were evident throughout, as they brought energy, expression and joy to every moment of the performance.

The children have worked incredibly hard in preparing for this production, and it was a truly proud moment for both staff and parents. Beyond the performance itself, experiences such as these play a crucial role in supporting children’s personal development. Taking part in a production enables pupils to develop their confidence, strengthen their communication and oracy skills, and learn the importance of teamwork and collaboration.

Through rehearsals and performances, the children developed their ability to listen, respond and support one another, building trust and a strong sense of collective achievement. For many, performing in front of an audience represents a significant milestone in overcoming nerves and building self-belief. These are skills which will serve them well both within and beyond the classroom.

It was wonderful to see just how much the children have grown, not only in their performance skills, but also in their confidence, resilience and teamwork, making it a memorable and meaningful celebration of all they have achieved this year.
