Year 2 dive into Interschool Swimming Gala

Year 2 dive into Interschool Swimming Gala

Friday 21 June marked the penultimate day of an action-packed DUCKS week, and Year 2 students rose to the occasion with impressive performances. Following a dynamic Sports Day and a memorable trip to Joss Bay, the pupils were ready to showcase their swimming skills at the gala held at the JAGS Sports Club Pool.

The young swimmers were determined to give their best, participating in individual events without the aid of floats or noodles. Their courage and enthusiasm were evident as they took to the water, pushing themselves to swim as fast as they could to the end of each length. The novelty relay events added an extra layer of excitement, with pupils demonstrating remarkable energy and team spirit.

A special thank you goes out to Mr Saliba and the entire JAGS Year 2 team for hosting and organising this delightful return gala. Additionally, the dedication of the Year 2 team and the DUCKS swim team in nurturing and caring for the swimmers was instrumental in the event's success. The support and encouragement from the audience, including family and teachers, played a significant role in motivating the young athletes.

This gala was not just about competition but about fostering a love for swimming, teamwork, and sportsmanship among the pupils. As the week draws to a close, Year 2's participation in the swimming gala stands out as a highlight, showcasing their ability to step up and shine in various activities.
