Parent and Carer Week

The DUCKS community was delighted to celebrate their annual Parent and Carer Week in May, a key event in the school calendar. This initiative reflects their ongoing commitment to strengthening partnerships with parents and carers, and to recognising the vital role they play in supporting children’s learning and development. 

Throughout the week, parents and carers were warmly welcomed into classrooms, where they had the opportunity to participate in a range of learning activities alongside their children, including lessons, quizzes and Forest School sessions. These experiences provided valuable insight into daily school life and fostered a shared sense of engagement in the children’s educational journey. 

A highlight of the week was the “Family Breakfast”, where families enjoyed a healthy start to the day together in a relaxed and sociable environment, making the most of the fine weather. 

In line with DUCKS’ commitment to promoting sustainable travel, they also hosted an electric bike workshop for parents and carers, helping to encourage environmentally friendly journeys to school. Pupils were equally engaged, taking part in a series of cycling challenges organised on the playground.
