On Monday 17 March our Year 2 swimmers made their way to the swimming pool to participate in the very first triangular swimming gala of the year. It has been a long-established tradition that swimmers from JAGS, Alleyn's and DUCKS meet twice a year to create splash, waves and a great atmosphere, as they kick and stroke their way up and down the pool. It is a great experience for the children whatever their level of swimming or confidence, and a wonderful springboard guiding us to their next swimming steps. Each child was able to take part in at least two 25 metre events, some wearing flippers, some holding floats, others wrestling with a giant floating frog in the giant frog relay, but all starting and finishing with a smile.
A huge thank you to Miss Hannah and the Year 2 staff team who marshalled and encouraged the children so well. Also, a great big thank you to our visitors JAGS and Alleyn's who brought both their style and enthusiasm to the Dulwich College pool, and our Team DUCKS swimmers who showed resilience, perseverance and a great attitude when supporting each other.
We look forward to welcoming spectators in the return leg, to be held at the JAGS pool in the Summer term.
