Festive End of Year Celebrations Bring Joy Across DUCKS

Festive End of Year Celebrations Bring Joy Across DUCKS

The festive season at DUCKS has been filled with music, laughter, and memorable performances, as children across the Kindergarten and Infant School embraced the spirit of end of year celebrations.

The festivities began with our Year 2 children performing under the magical Christmas tree at Hay’s Galleria. Harnessing the spirit of the Selfless Duck, the pupils sang beautifully to raise money for Read Easy Southwark, a charity supporting adults in learning to read. Their voices carried not only festive cheer but also a message of kindness and giving.

Reception children shone in their debut nativity, Baarmy Bethlehem. With confidence and joy, they performed their lines and songs to delighted parents, retelling the story of the nativity through wonderful acting and music.

Our youngest performers in Pre-Reception impressed us all with their Christmas songs, confidently sharing the story of the season. Their enthusiasm and talent brought smiles to all who watched.

This week, Year 1 and Year 2 joined together for our Carols by Candlelight event. Parents enjoyed mince pies, hot chocolate, and mulled wine while listening to traditional carols sung with passion. The children’s happy faces and lively dancing captured the excitement of the season.

Adding to the magic, Father Christmas visited DUCKS to deliver gifts to every child. The celebrations continued with Festive Friday, where Kindergarten and Infant pupils enjoyed a lively Christmas Disco. To close the term, DUCKS staff are excited to swap their teaching hats for costumes in a special pantomime performance of Jack and The Beanstalk. With singing, dancing, and plenty of festive fun, it promises to be a wonderful finale to a season of celebration.

The festive period at DUCKS has not only brought joy to pupils and families but also provided invaluable opportunities for children to grow in confidence, creativity, and community spirit. We can’t wait to hear all about the children’s holiday when they return in January!
