Fab-letic Friday

On Friday 10 May our Year 1 children were fortunate enough to participate in an inter-schools fun athletics event, hosted by JAGS Pre-prep on their stunningly well prepared sports field. First task on arrival, was to find shade from the blazing sun, under our designated DUCKS gazebo. It was then time for our budding athletes to compose themselves and prepare to compete. The teaching staff expertly organised and managed their respective classes and DUCKS children were able to apply what they had practised, from the moment the first starting gun sounded. They worked well as three class teams performing in a total of five events. The race order of the day was: hoop; sprint; agility poles; racket and bean bag; and obstacle. All races run in relay style ensuring that individual effort added up to team glory.

A big thank you to the JAGS Sports Department for catering so well to us and our spectators, not only with their organisation but also with their hospitality. To the Year 1 team and Miss Hannah for marshalling the children so well and keeping them energised and enthused. Finally, a huge thank you to our fantastic Year 1 athletes who really put their best feet forward and represented DUCKS and themselves so well.
