In a heartwarming display of energy, enthusiasm, and empathy, the children of DUCKS came together today for an unforgettable House Day celebration — all in support of the Ickle Pickles Charity, which helps provide vital equipment for neonatal units across the UK.
The day kicked off with a high-octane assault course that had children crawling through tunnels, scrambling under nets, and leaping through tyres with unstoppable determination. Laughter echoed across the field as parents cheered from the sidelines — and some even jumped in to tackle the course themselves! The spirit of community was palpable, with every child pushing themselves to complete multiple laps, all in the name of charity.
The afternoon continued the theme of leadership and teamwork with a carousel of engaging activities. From slam dunks in basketball to harmonious singing ensembles, strategic board games, and calming mindfulness sessions, the children showcased not only their talents but also their ability to collaborate, support one another, and stay focused.
It was a day filled with joy, resilience, and purpose and all activities linked perfectly to our core values of being determined, kind and selfless. The children worked incredibly hard, showing grit and grace in every challenge.
Now, the children face one last mission: to collect their sponsorship money and calculate the total funds raised for Ickle Pickles. Every pound will make a difference, and we can’t wait to see the impact of their efforts. To all our DUCKS families — thank you for your support, your cheers, and your generosity. Together, we’re helping tiny lives in big ways. Let’s keep the momentum going!
