Friday 6 June was the final day of a busy DUCKS week, but Year 2 showed that that they could focus just one more time.
After two Fridays without class swimming - due to an INSET and the half-term break - and following an exciting school trip earlier in the week, it was now time for the children to show their best strokes at the JAGS Sports Club Pool. After a short pep talk the swimmers were ready to give it their best shot. Several individual events were bravely swam, as children opted to swim without the assistance of floats or noodles. Instructions were followed to the letter, and there was some impressive backstroke, as the children swam 'hard-in to the finish', remembering to stretch for the wall while on their backs. They relished the novelty relay events and the energy they showed was only surpassed by the enthusiasm that they mustered to get to the end of the lengths as fast as they could.
Thank you to Mr Saliba and the whole of JAGS Year 2 for hosting and organising this return gala, and the much appreciated post-event snack. A huge thank you to the Year 2 team and the DUCKS swim team for their excellent care and guidance. To all who came to watch, a huge thank you for your ongoing support and encouraging voices.
Good luck to all our swimmers as they progress to Year 3 and beyond.
