Co-curricular

DUCKS prides itself on the great range and high level of the co-curricular activities available to the children. Our extensive facilities and specialist teachers enable the children to experience the very best opportunities in developing their skills in a range of activities that complement the curriculum. Clubs run after school from 3.30-4.30pm and at lunch times, and are booked on a termly basis through the school office.

Recent clubs include ballet, taekwondo, tennis, cookery, mandarin, Forest School, ‘Team DUCKS’ athletics, swimming and water-colour painting.

School Council

Our Year 2 children put forward their manifestos for school council in the Michaelmas term and are elected by their peers. They meet weekly to put forward and implement improvements to the school, and are still campaigning hard for an ice-cream van in the playground.

Sport

Sport is a key part of our curriculum and a great opportunity for children to learn social skills as well as develop physically, but there is a also a wide variety of co-curricular sporting activities available to children at DUCKS. From Taekwon-do lessons to ballet and swim squad, we want every child to find a sport they can enjoy.

Drama

As well as enjoying drama as part of English lessons, all children are encouraged to participate in school plays, class Assemblies and performances. The confidence and sense of achievement this affords our children is invaluable. For our Year 2 children, the play they perform in the Edward Alleyn Theatre is always a highlight of their final term.

There are also drama clubs throughout the school and the opportunity to take LAMDA classes in Year 2.

Music

All children participate in class music lessons and year group choirs. We also offer individual instrumental lessons in Piano, Violin and Cello at an additional charge.

Dance

Our ballet and street dance clubs are popular with boys and girls throughout the Infants' School.

After school clubs are offered daily from 3.30pm - 4.30pm, at an additional cost. Clubs change termly and are booked in advance through the school office.
