Each academic year around 75 boys join the Middle School into Year 9 (age 13). In addition, 125 boys join the year group from our Lower School, making a total of around 210 boys.

Middle School Visits (for Year 9 candidates)
The Head of Middle School is happy to meet prospective candidates and their parents on an individual basis. To arrange an appointment please telephone the Registrar on 020 8299 9263.
There are also Open Afternoons where boys and parents can visit the College and experience the Middle School. These are on:

|Examinations||Written papers in English, Mathematics, Science and Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning. Boys who accept a place will need to sit either a French or Spanish examination in June 2019 for setting purposes only.

The offer of a place at the College is made on the basis of
- the candidate’s performance in the appropriate examination
- an interview
- a confidential report from the Head of the candidate’s present school
and is subject to the College’s Standard Terms and Conditions.
Candidates who show promise in the written papers are invited to attend for an interview shortly after the examination. Our aim is to provide a friendly atmosphere for the interview during which the candidate will be allowed the opportunity to give further evidence of his academic strengths and some indication of interests and abilities with which he might make a contribution to the general life of the College.
Extra Time in Entrance Examinations
Additional time is available for boys who have an Educational Psychologist’s report that shows they have below average scores for speed of cognitive processing. Use of a computer is available for boys for whom it is the normal way of working and where it is appropriate to their needs. Please make the Registrar aware of this at the time of application.
(French or Spanish examinations will be taken in June prior to entry by boys who accept an offer of a place at Dulwich College)
Registration for entry in 2019 has now closed
The registration form should be completed and returned by post to The Registrar, Dulwich College, London SE21 7LD. The registration fee
(non-refundable) can either be paid either by cheque, payable to Dulwich College or online via WisePay. Please note no application will be registered until the fee has been received.
The Registrar, Mrs Sarah Betts, and the Assistant Registrar, Mrs Alison Williams, are responsible for dealing with enquiries regarding admission to Years 7 to 10, and for the administration of the entry procedure for those year groups.
