Saturday 22 June to Sunday 29 September 2019
The Linbury Room, Dulwich Picture Gallery
(Open to all)
‘Edward Alleyn’s Gift: celebrating 400 years of Dulwich History’ is an exhibition from the Dulwich Estate. From the origins of Edward Alleyn’s 17th century foundation to the present day, this exhibition hosted at the Dulwich Picture Gallery includes a short film by Simon Purins and an interactive map.
Alleyn’s connection with Dulwich dates back to 1605, and his work to establish the charitable foundation Alleyn’s College of God’s Gift, is explored in a series of display panels.
The exhibition, which is free of charge, is one of three anniversary initiatives created by The Dulwich Estate in collaboration with the local community. A new heritage trail with five permanent interpretation signs and a guidance map, marking sites of historical interest in the area, will open later in the year.
