School-Centred Initial Teacher Training
The National School-Centred Initial Teacher Training (SCITT) courses are aimed at new graduates and career changers. The package offered to trainees includes the option to train at independent and state schools, making this teacher training course a very favourable option.
Teacher training hub
Dulwich College is a teacher training hub for Biology, Computing, Chemistry, Economics (with Business Studies), Modern Languages, Maths and Physics, and is the lead training school of the Dulwich Hub. We provide training, coordinate placements at other schools in the area, conduct interviews and quality assure the development of the trainees. Each hub needs a mix of state and independent schools in order to offer the requisite training placements. We welcome new London schools to join the London Hub.
Engineers teach Physics
Dulwich College offers the Department for Education's Engineers teach Physics programme. This aims to create a new targeted pathway to secure more teachers from the engineering sector to help support the national shortage of physics teachers.
