Southwark Teaching Schools Alliance

Dulwich College is the independent school partner of the Southwark Teaching School Alliance (STSA) which, through teacher training, Continuing Professional Development (CPD), and school-to-school support helps trainees to become outstanding teachers and leaders.

Dulwich College's main focus in the alliance is to support educational research and development and teacher CPD, utilising innovative and up-to-date academic input from the Institute of Education, University of London.

In the academic year 2015-16 the College joined other STSA schools in piloting a Lesson Study as a form of CPD. The programme of training and development opportunities grows each year.

Dulwich College hosts groups of ‘School Direct’ trainee primary teachers on one-day visits from their STSA schools to observe KS3 lessons as ‘secondary experience’ necessary for their training.

Through London Schools for Excellence four teachers from the Gipsy Hill Federation of primary schools have observed Year 7 teaching in the English Department.
