A welcome to the Olympians
It is with great pleasure that I welcome you all to the Dulwich Olympiad 2019, one of the major celebratory events at the heart of our 400th anniversary year.
Edward Alleyn founded his College of God’s Gift in 1619 and, four centuries later, we are blessed to have the gift of a global community of Alleynians. This week of sporting and cultural activities will kindle friendships and relationships which will, in some cases, last a lifetime. We are proud to have this opportunity to build bridges across the world. We look forward to learning from each other and inspiring each other towards excellence in all our fields of endeavour.
May I wish you a memorable week here at Dulwich College and at the Olympic Park and in the Queen Elizabeth Hall on London's famous South Bank, where Edward Alleyn's story began. Thank you for the part you personally will play in celebrating our unity and our diversity.
Dr Joe Spence
Master of Dulwich College
Welcome to London and to the Founding College. This is a unique and historical week for our international students from all 11 schools to join together with Dulwich College. We are delighted to be here and to be celebrating the 400th anniversary with the 2019 Dulwich Olympiad.
This will be a week of memories being made, history being written and friendships being built. I encourage everyone to meet new people, try new things and be part of building this historic bridge to the world. We thank our hosts, every teacher and student of Dulwich College and the Master, Dr Joe Spence, for the incredibly warm hospitality and welcome we have received.
Enjoy the week and make the most of all that is here for you – in the spirit of us all being Alleynians.
Chairman of Dulwich College International
