Above and Beyond
Creative learning thrives when it flourishes beyond the classroom. Our co-curricular programme is extensive and evolves to inspire and support all types of creative need and focus.
Throughout the academic year we typically host in excess of eight exhibitions in spaces across the College campus. A combination of exhibitions by visiting artists and creative charities punctuates dedicated student-centred exhibitions and end of year celebrations. In addition to gallery-based exhibits, our annual annual Film Awards was founded in 2014 in partnership with the Dulwich Picture Gallery and Film Aid International in response to the incredible film work being produced by our students in conjunction with Turner Prize winner Jeremy Deller OA and has become a catalyst for nurturing fresh creative talent within the College. Our Art symposiums are a regular feature in the academic calendar and explore all aspects of the creative industries beyond Dulwich. Each year we host an event for a Lower School Year group exploring creative matters, this includes the ‘Big Draw’, this year the ‘Big Make’ and in 2018 the ‘Bigger Picture’. Engaging our students in Art and Design through cross-curricular projects, working directly with artists, architects and designers to enable thinking ‘outside the box’ is what these free learning days are all about. We are partnered with the charity MyStart, a creative arts projects working in Kakuma refugee camp and Kibera slums Nairobi. Sign up to receive news & updates from MyStart Project's field staff.
