The most well known Old Alleynians are perhaps Sir Ernest Shackleton and P G Wodehouse, although other ‘household’ names include Raymond Chandler, C S Forester, Lord Shawcross and Trevor Bailey.
The War Memorial lists 837 names of boys and masters who gave their lives in the two World Wars while during the Battle of Britain, no fewer than ten Old Alleynians flew as fighter pilots, an exceptional number for a single school. The College also produced seven VCs, the highest military honour for bravery.
Old Alleynians excel in all walks of life and some recent success stories are featured in the News & Events section of this website.
